Fictitious Business Name Statements
Every Fictitious Business Name filed must undergo legal publication within 30 calendar days of the initial filing date. The fictitious business name statement must run once a week for a total of four weeks. At the end of the four-week publication period, the publisher must file a proof of publication a.k.a. affidavit of publication with the county recorder.
If legal publication does not begin within the statutory deadline, the business owner(s) shall be in violation of the California Business & Professions Code Section 17917. The business owner(s) will also lose all ownership rights to their business name.
Central DBA offers four-week legal publication in one of our three fully adjudicated newspapers that have been approved by the Superior Court to publish all legal notices. We shall publish your statement once a week for a total of four weeks as required by State Law. At the end of the four-week publication period, we will file a proof of publication with the county recorder.
Our publication dates are every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Our submission deadlines are two days prior to the publication date. Documents must be received and published before the 30 calendar days NOT postmarked. Late requests will be denied.
Fictitious Business Names are extremely time sensitive. You must publish immediately in order to avoid legal issues and additional charges.
Note: Legal publication is intended to satisfy the governing law and give public notice only. The publication will not promote or increase your business in any way. Do not over pay for your legal publication with high priced newspapers.
